Trying world Cuisines

So it all started on a boring Wednesday evening when my manager came up with an excellent idea of trying different cuisines every week. And I will keep posting my experience with different country food so that it will serve as guide to others and help me to keep track of what I experienced.

1. Peruvian Cuisine
On 19th June we opted for Peruvian food and to my dismay i couldn't find even a single vegetarian dish (it is going to be a tough journey!) but I ordered a dish which had full of vegetables and asked them to remove meat from it. But the food was amazing it had all vegetable with different kind of potatoes.

2. Vietnamese Cuisine
It was on 13th June our VP took us to this restaurant that is almost 50 years old. It was a special treat for our visiting India office director. The food was quite OK and every dish was sweet and made up of rice. Had a coconut juice which tasted like mix of coconut water and coconut toddy. My main course had lot of "mock" chicken which was made out of tofu and had noodles made up of rice. Even the spring roll was made up of vegetables and rice with outer layer which was thin sheet made up of rice and was served with peanut sauce.

3. Ethiopian Cuisine (12th July)
So this time the options were Jamaican, Malasian and Ethiopian cuisine and most of us voted for Ethiopian cuisine and it was a big gang including our CEO. The restaurant is in Downtown and Cem, Hems and Vince took us to Dukem restaurant (http://www.dukemrestaurant.com). All most all the recipes in Ethiopian restaurant comes with a has a large bread (it was like aapam but bit soft) and we need to order side dish for that (it was something like chutney).
Luckily I had vegetarian companion this time and we ordered Ethiopian beer and Juice first. The main course I ordered was
1. SPECIAL DUKEM VEGGIE COMBO (3) which contained 7 items (side dish) with injera 2. YESOM KULET FITFIT which was like "kotthu parata" where they mix Injera with all kind of side dish.
The food was OK kind of but the dessert was good. We ordered BAKLAVA which is a favorite dessert for most of us.
